Child Protection Information Management System(CPIMS)

USAID HealthIT works with the Directorate of Children Services (DCS) to support leadership & governance’s capability to own, manage and ensure the evolution of the Child Protection Information Management System (CPIMS) and with OVC Implementing partners. The project supports DCS at national, regional, county, and sub county children’s offices and statutory institutions and OVC IPs in CPIMS system enhancements, uptake, utilization, and capacity building in the Child Protection Information Management System (CPIMS) for Child Protection and; Orphans and Vulnerable children programming for PEPFAR supported projects. HealthIT worked with the Directorate of Children Services to ensure the roll out of Child Protection Information Management System (CPMIS) throughout the whole country, from the initial 12 pilot counties to a national footprint where CPIMS is available and used in the whole country; 47 county children offices, 290 sub county children offices, 30 statutory institutions and in Charitable Children Institutions in seven counties.CPIMS is a system that provides accurate, timely and consistent national data for evidence-based programming on children protection issues. We have supported the Directorate of Children Services (DCS) in the following areas:

  • Data Analytics
  • Data Use
  • User Support

HealthIT also supported joint CPIMS enhancement improving the OVC dashboard and the system reports to conform to MER 2.2 v 6 guidance on indicator reporting.
