CAPACITY BUILDING AND INSTITUTIONAL LEARNING

HealthIT’s Capacity Building drives sub-purpose 2 of the project which is to ‘Improve institutional capacity of national and county Ministry of Health (MOH) on use of health systems, data quality capture and reporting.
Capacity Building supports development, enhancement, updating and continued usage of Health Information Systems (HISs) and Child Protection Information Management System (CPIMS).

Capacity Building ensures that users of HISs and CPIMS have the competencies to drive accurate and timely data capturing, program monitoring, reporting and decision making.
Capacity Building is also critical in ensuring technical users especially MOH and Department of Children Services (DCS) staff at National and County levels are able to sustain development, usage and continued upgrading of HISs and CPIMSs.

CAPACITY BUILDING OBJECTIVES

Capacity Building focuses on the various users of the digital health platforms. Capacity building objectives are;

Acquisition of competencies on usage of HISs and CPIMS

Facilitate adaptability and scale up of HISs in facilities and counties

Facilitate sustainability in development, usage, enhancement and upgrading of HISs

Ministry of Health (MOH) Virtual Academy

Strengthened National Information Systems that support reporting, provide data for decision making for GOK, counties and other stakeholders

County Proximate Universities(CPUs)

Improved institutional capacity of national and county Ministry of Health (MOH) on use of health systems, quality data capture and reporting.

PEPFAR is a commitment by the U.S.A Government to support HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment programs in developing countries.
